Working Principle

The BP1 horizontal external oil conservator uses a metal corrugated expansion core as the volume compensation element.

  • The inner cavity of the corrugated coreis connected to the atmosphere through a breathing pipe
  • The outer space between core and tankforms the oil chamber, connected to the transformer tank

When oil temperature changes:

  • Oil expands → corrugated core compresses
  • Oil contracts → corrugated core expands
