Project Location: Thailand
Application: Regional Distribution Substation
Transformer: 30 MVA 115/22 kV Oil-Immersed Power Transformer
Key Equipment: Customized Flat Tube Transformer Radiators
Installation: On-Site Radiator Assembly
A new 115/22 kV distribution substation in Thailand was developed to support increasing electricity demand in the local area.
The project included a 30 MVA oil-immersed power transformer. Due to transportation and site installation requirements, the transformer was delivered with the main tank separated from its cooling components.
Radiastar supplied customized flat tube transformer radiators for on-site installation, providing the required cooling solution for reliable transformer operation under Thailand’s tropical climate.
The radiator installation was completed on site using a mobile crane truck.
The detachable radiator design allowed the cooling components to be transported separately and installed efficiently after the transformer tank was positioned on its foundation.
Each radiator was carefully lifted and aligned with the pre-installed mounting flanges on the transformer tank to ensure proper mechanical and oil-flow connections.
Nitrile rubber gaskets were installed between the radiator and transformer tank connections to provide reliable sealing and minimize the risk of oil leakage during operation.
The radiator system was designed for outdoor operation and integrated with the transformer’s natural oil circulation cooling system.
